TOB Announces A Class Championships for 2010

Tournament of Bands has offered bands competition at the Regional/A Class level for the past two seasons, and has been very involved in discussion with band directors to move this classification towards a championship event - something beyond the regional/chapter level. After meeting in March, and several weeks of committee work and development, as well as lengthy discussion by the TOB/NJA Administrative team - we have an announcement!

The Tournament of Bands A Class Championship will be held on Sunday, October 31(Group 2 & 4) and Sunday, November 7(Group 1 &3) starting 7:30 AM at the Hershey Park Stadium. Based on the scores received at the October 23-24 Chapter Championships, the top 5, or more, TOB A Class Bands will be invited to compete in the initial Tournament of Bands A Class Championship. Official notification of invitation will be the Monday following Chapter Championships. This event will replace the TOB Invitational for the 2010 season.

Bands will need to register for participation prior to September 15, and will also be provided with information for pre-show ticket sales, as well as video and photos at the TOB A Class Championship.

As TOB expands into this new Championship endeavor, we will continue to survey participants for planning future A Class Championship events.
