Tournament of Bands Chapter X serves northern and central New Jersey
as well as southeastern New York including
NJ counties of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex,
Monmouth, Morris, Northern Ocean, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex & Union. New York counties of Bronx, Kings, Suffolk, Nassau, Queens &
All bands, colorguards, and percussion ensembles,
regardless of size and location, are welcome to perform at TOB Chapter
X shows. TOB is focused on providing a positive and educational
experience for all performing units. We can meet the needs of all
performing units by providing separate adjudication for Open Class, Class A and Festival Class units. If your unit wishes to perform at
a Chapter X show, please contact the show coordinator or Chapter
Coordinator Ray Troxell for information.

The awards will be presented at the respective School's Music Program Awards Night or the School Senior Awards Night in the Spring. A Big Congratulations to these students for a fine effort in stating "What Marching Band Means To Me!" - Thanks also to the many other students who participated in this program. Your Essay's were all outstanding and shows us that the world is in a good place because of you, your Band Director and your experiences in your School's Music Program.
Chapter 10 Bands at ACC Championship Series
In Group 1-A, Arthur L Johnson HS came in a close second (92.20) to Collingswood HS (92.80) of Chapter One. ALJ won Best Music and was promoted along with Collingswood to the Open Class for 2014. Congrats to Rachel Bollaro, her staff and her students for this strong finish.
Raritan HS and Lenape Valley Regional HS also competed in Group 1-A and had fine showings. We are all proud of these groups. Both gave us some really nice performances during the season
In Group 3 Open Class, Brick Memorial HS Came in a close second (97.30) to Southern Regional HS of Chapter One (97.40). The Mustangs won Best Brass and Best Woodwinds. What a sound this Band had and what a great year for Director Andy Penrod and his staff and students.
Roselle Park appeared in the Group 1 Open as our only Group 1 Open entry and did great scoring an 82.00. A really great showing after they moved themselves from Class A to Open Class early in the season - Great Job Director Alison Cogswel, the Roselle Park staff and students.
On Saturday November 2nd at Camp Hill Pa The Group 2A Show received outstanding performances from Our 2A Chapter Champion Jefferson Twp. who scored an 88.65 for strong 6th place finish. Brick Township in their first ever Acc appearance scored 83.60 followed by Our Hudson County friends Union City HS who finished with an 80.65. Congratulations to Rich, Dave & Dan and their Kids, Parents and Staffs for an outstanding year in TOB
The 3A Group was extremely Interesting with Joe Spina's Hanover Park Band and George Powers Marching Mariners of Toms River North ending up tied for 3rd Place with an 88.95. North Bergen led by Director Mike Connor finished a strong year scoring an 85.55.
At Hershey on a cold Sunday the Group 2 Open Class saw The West Essex Marching Knights under Director John Scozzaro score an outstanding 95.15, winning Best Brass and finishing 4th. Governor Livingston's very Young Highlander Band stayed in the top 10 and scored 91.45. Job well done Nick &Crew. Russ Batsch and his up and coming Madison Dodgers moved up and finished 11th right behind GL with a strong 90.65. The always great Matawan Huskies under Chris Henzel finished the year with an 87.85.
In Group 4 Open Class Ramsey High School came in 5th with a score of 91.80. Great effort by the Rams late on Sunday Night when it really got cold. Cliff Bialkin and his cast of "Thousands" really do a nice job of everything they do.
Well done all of Chapter 10 over the past two ACC Weekends. Chapter one and Chapter 10 together proved we are all "Jersey Strong" Lets hear it for the Garden State!!
